Organisation Structure

Organisation Structure of Tony Waite Organisation

Sustainable Livelihoods

Situational Analysis: HIV management relatively focuses on prevention and treatment rather than impact of the epidemic. Tony Waite is trying to improve the lives of those affected by HIV and AIDS by putting in place income generating programmes. A total of 1523 beneficiaries have been engaged in the sustainable livelihoods programme. These include 4 nutritional gardens (306 people) and 1 poultry project (50 people) and internal savings and lending groups (1170 people). However, with the increasing number of people who come through their offices the organisation has seen the need to expand the projects with a wider beneficiary group. Tony Waite encourages women and youth to be involved in household income in order to empower them economically and be self-sustainable.

Youths

Situational Analysis: Tony Waite has been working with the youths to educate them in sexual reproduction health and rights. This was developed due to the need to educate the group as growing and developing young adults. Currently they are working with 862 youths infected and affected by chronic illnesses in the community not limited to HIV and AIDS. Through this information sharing, advocacy and active participation of youth, they are capacitated to be able to function freely and elect their own representatives in relevant structures. However there are still a large number of youths who have not yet been reached. It has also been noted that youths are engaging in alcohol and drug abuse due to idleness and if they are involved in projects they direct their energy where it is required. Tony Waite believes the youths are the backbone of the country, the future leaders.

“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”
